Windows Vista is the first operating system to require a GPU (Graphics Processing Unit) to realize the best experience possible.

The upcoming availability of Windows® Vista™ is one of the most significant events in the history of the PC. This exciting new operating system from Microsoft will make multi-media and 3D applications, interactive entertainment and games better on a PC than they ever could be previously. The user interface and desktop will be easier to interact with and have the ability to provide 3D feedback to make it more intuitive. It is designed to make applications and games easier to install and more stable than ever. We have been working to help make sure that the Windows Vista experience is extraordinary.

You will hear a lot about new PC’s and hardware for Vista in the coming months. The most important thing to remember is that to take advantage of all that Windows Vista and the applications and games for the PC has to offer, make sure that your PC has a dedicated graphics processor, whether on a discrete graphics card or the new, efficient nForce motherboard and notebook chipsets with on-board GeForce graphics.
