NVIDIA GRID is tested and supported

The NVIDIA GRID compatibility process ensures that the GRID solution is fully tested and supported by industry leading Independent Software Vendors (ISVs) in a Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) environment. This process validates that users get the same graphics performance and experience in a virtualised environment, as they would expect from their NVIDIA based PC or Quadro workstation.

GRID drivers are based on the same driver branch as Quadro, which has over a decade of professional testing. Quadro drivers have over 100 ISV certifications across all industries. You can then deploy this reliable GRID driver in your virtualised environment on mature hypervisor stacks from our partners.

NVIDIA Process for Partner Certification and Validation for NVIDIA GRID Boards

The following is the additional external certification and validation process that NVIDIA GRID Software and Tesla boards go through with our partners:

  1. The OEMs certify their servers with NVIDIA TESLA boards. See List of GRID Certified Servers
  2. The OEM submits the server (complete with TESLA boards) for hypervisor qualification and compatibility tests. The server and GRID boards are certified by Citrix and VMware separately.
  3. NVIDIA installs the supported server in the compatibility center.
  4. NVIDIA offers that stack plus the GRID driver to the ISVs for additional application testing.

NVIDIA GRID Compatibility Center for Strategic Software Partners

The GRID Compatibility Center provides the complete environment for ISV's to test applications remotely through leading virtualisation infrastructures.


ISVs remotely log into NVIDIA's Compatibility Center to test NVIDIA's driver with their application and have complete access to the following two deployment models.

  • NVIDIA GRID™ vGPU™: Multiple virtual machines share a GPU.
  • NVIDIA GPU Pass-through technology: Each virtual machine has a dedicated GPU
