MEDIA ALERT:
NVIDIA ANNOUNCES KEY SPONSORSHIP OF E-MAGICIENS
NVIDIA sponsors leading European event focusing on the talent of young digital artists and joins Big Ben Interactive for European launch of Spellforce
LONDON, ENGLAND — NOVEMBER 19th, 2003 — NVIDIA Corporation (Nasdaq: NVDA), the worldwide leader in visual processing solutions, today announced that it will be a key sponsor of this year’s E-Magiciens event in Valenciennes in France. The event, designed to educate, inform and showcase the talents of Europe’s most promising young design students, is in its 5th year, and this year’s event promises to be no disappointment.
Big Ben Interactive in conjunction with JoWood Productions will launch the much awaited Spellforce game at the show. Spellforce, part of NVIDIA’s “The Way It’s Meant to be Played” (TWIMTBP) programme, brings an amazing fantasy world with a complex story on to the gamers’ screen, blending the very best elements of build ‘em up and real time strategy gaming with those of a role-playing game. Big Ben Interactive will host a joint presentation with NVIDIA on November 27th at 4pm. Other game developers who are part of the TWIMTBP programme will also be in attendance at the show.
NVIDIA will also be a major presence in The Lab, an area of the show dedicated to running live demonstrations of new technologies and techniques. NVIDIA, with its partners Digimotion and PNY Technologies, will be showing workstations powered by Quadro FX products, the leading graphics boards for digital content creation, as well as demonstrating the tools and functionality afforded to NVIDIA products through its close working relationships with the ISV (independent software vendors) including Discreet, Softimage and Alias Wavefront.
One of the event’s highlights will be the NVIDIA sponsored animation competition where design students work in a ‘chain’, creating separate chapters of an animated story, which at the end is joined together to form a short film. The competition runs across all 3 days of the event and prizes are awarded for the most imaginative and well designed pieces.
At the end of the event, NVIDIA will give away the “Public Award” for the best film from the Teacher’s Compilation, a selection of some of the best digital artwork produced by gifted students from Europe’s leading design schools.
