FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

NVIDIA PCI Express solutions power Kraftway workstation and desktop systems

Leading Russian PC builder selects NVIDIA PCI Express solutions for latest range of systems

MOSCOW — JUne 28, 2004 — NVIDIA Corporation (Nasdaq: NVDA), the worldwide leader in visual processing solutions, today announced that Kraftway, Russia’s leading provider of personal computers (PCs) has selected NVIDIA® graphics processing units (GPUs) to power their new PCI Express™ systems.

“The system builder channel will prove critical to the adoption of PCI Express,” - said Roy Taylor, vice president of sales, EMEA at NVIDIA. “The transition from AGP to PCI Express had the potential to be challenging for system builders as they weighed up PC bus and graphics performance options. We are very happy to see market leaders such as Kraftway quickly adopting our top-to-bottom line-up of PCI Express-enabled graphics processors with their best-in-class performance and unsurpassed compatibility”.

In a show of strong support for NVIDIA’s PCI Express strategy, Kraftway will be offering NVIDIA PCI Express-enabled GPUs in its new product line, as follows:

  • Kraftway Popular – destop family for home/office use including Kraftway Popular 5I05 based on 915G chipset, Kraftway Popular 5I15 with 915P chipset and Kraftway Popular 5I16 with 915P chipset – all equipped with GeForce 6800GT with PCI-E;
  • GEG Prestige – high performance graphics workstations including GEG Prestige 5I25 with 925X chipset and GEG Prestige XI40 dual Xeon system with 7525 chipset and Extended Memory 64 Technology – equipped with NVIDIA Quadro FX 1300 PCI-E.

“As a leader in the Russian market, we understand the benefits of early adoption and we are committed to being the first to utilise and deliver these modern technologies to the market”, - said Alexei Koudriavtsev, CEO at Kraftway. “NVIDIA’s top-to-bottom PCI Express solutions family for both desktop and workstation segments helps us to move faster with the transition to this new interface and subsequently show the immediate benefits of it to our customers”.

PCI Express significantly increases bandwidth between the central processing unit (CPU) and the GPU by enabling a balanced distribution of bandwidth to those applications that require it the most. By using the innovative NVIDIA High-Speed Interconnect (HSI), a complex piece of networking technology that performs seamless, bi-directional interconnect protocol conversion at incredible speed lines, NVIDIA can transform its award-winning GPUs into a full family of PCI Express GPUs.
